Age of empires ii: hd edition. collection by i've come to enjoy making random map scripts for aoe ii. it's a lot fun to come up with new and creative random maps. so i thought it would be a good idea to collect of my random map scripts in one place - this collection! they have been taken from the 'age of empires 2: the making of. Age of empires 2 is hard coded to use 42 terrains. in order to use some of the terrains from the hd expansions, the maps use the userpatch 1.5 feature of creating a "zipped random map". this allows us to replace a terrain with another terrain, allowing for more terrain textures to be used.. I've created a random map pack containing my 20 best-liked maps of aoe vanilla, conquerors, forgotten empires, and rise of the rajas giving each map a 5% chance. however 90% or more of the time the "random" choice produces 'cenotes', and of the remaining 10% three quarters are 'acropolis'..
